A celebration of life for William I. Spector, M.D., 62, a Reno resident, will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at Temple Sinai, 3405 Gulling Road, Reno.
Dr. Spector died July 28, 2001, at Washoe Medical Center. He was a native of Westchester, Pa. and had lived in the Reno/Carson City area for the past 30 years.
He was a senior physician for the State of Nevada Prison System and was Carson City's first opthalmologist. A graduate of Temple University Medical School, he served as a flight surgeon during the Vietnam War and was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Spector was preceded in death by his father, Samuel S. Spector, M.D.
Among his survivors are his fiancee, Patricia Blanchard of Reno; mother R. Patricia Spector of Hollywood, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law Sue and Herb Breger of New York City; daughter and son-in-law Kim and Dwane Scribner of Carson City; sons William S. of Eugene, Ore. and Kyle of Monterey and granddaughter Rashell Scribner.
