A memorial Mass for Ann Shaughnessy Kelly, 96, a Reno resident for the past 26 years and a native Nevadan, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral, 310 W. Second St., Reno.
Mrs. Kelly died Aug. 3, 2001, at Washoe Village care center. She was born May 8, 1905, in Sparks to John and Hanna Hibbets Shaughnessy.
Her family moved to Carson City when her father became chairman of the Nevada Public Service Commission, and she graduated from Carson High School, class of 1923. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
Mrs. Kelly worked for many years as a legal secretary in Reno and in San Jose, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene D., two sisters and a brother.
Among her survivors are her sons John Shaughnessy of Reno and Gene Dominic of Los Gatos, Calif., and granddaughters Kristin Kelly Nordenholz of Oakland and Erin Kelly of Davis, Calif.
She bequeathed her remains to the University of Nevada School of Medical Sciences in Reno for research and educational purposes.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent's Dining Room and Thrift Shop or to a favorite charity.
