Obituary Robert E.M. Roberts

A memorial service for Robert E.M. Roberts, 70, a Gardnerville resident for the past 10 years, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Genoa Church, with a Celebration of Life picnic at Genoa Park across from the church after the memorial.

Mr. Roberts died Aug. 17, 2001, at his home. He was born Aug. 26, 1930, in San Francisco to Weymouth and Genevieve Morse Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Adrienne Roberts Sitts.

Prior to living in Gardnerville he resided at Lake Tahoe at Tahoma.

Mr. Roberts married Vickie J. Abrahamson Feb. 1, 1959, in Lodi, Calif. He enjoyed Toastmasters, gardening, studying history and classical music.

He retired from real estate Investments. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity at the University of California at Berkeley.

He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Minden.

Mr. Roberts was a member of the U.S. Air Force in the early 1950s.

Among his survivors are his wife Vickie J. Roberts and husband John of Gardnerville; daughters Jocelyn V. Fisher of Gardnerville and Jennyann Roberts-Lewis and husband Gary of San Jose; sister Marilyn Roberts Bewley of Stockton, Calif., and six grandchildren.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
