Open auditions for the "Nutcracker-All jazzed up" will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Carson City Community Center.
"It's something that we've never done around here before," said Sandi Scheer, owner of danceSpirit, who will be producing the show.
She said the production will follow the traditional storyline of the "Nutcracker" but the melodies will be "jazzed up."
Instead of ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical and specialty numbers will be featured.
