St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community Ladies Guild is in need of supplies for a project of making quilts.

The guild has been working on the quilt project for more than three months and has a goal of 24 quilts it wants to deliver to Advocates to End Domestic Violence on Dec. 20.

"The ladies involved have donated most of the materials and some materials have been out-of-pocket expenses," said Linda Ogilvie, who has helped organize the project.

"We are usually in need of batting, backing, thread and rotary blades. The rotary blades are our biggest expense because they only last through the making of three or four quilts. We do try to sharpen them, but you only get so many uses out of them."

To keep the project on an continuing basis, the guild is asking for donations of these supplies. In addition to making the quilts for children that go into the protective shelters, the guild will look into supplying quilts for other area agencies where children are involved.

To donate supplies or for information, call Ogilvie at 883-5870.
