Governor Kenny Guinn recently appointed Dr. Edwin "Flip" Homansky to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, replacing Lorenzo Fertitta who recently resigned in order to devote his time to his duties as president of Station Casinos.

Homansky is a past president of the Nevada chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians and former chairman of the medical advisory board overseeing per-hospital care in Clark County.

He has also served on the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association and as CEO of Las Vegas' Triple-A baseball team, the Stars.
