Supreme Court Chief Justice Bob Rose was honored Tuesday by the Nevada Network Against Domestic Violence.
He was presented the Unity Award for his efforts on behalf of battered women and their families.
"I think the Unity Award is in recognition of the major steps the court has taken to help combat domestic violence," Rose said.
Network officials said Rose helped establish a statewide court monitoring project to determine how well judges are handling domestic violence and pushed for court rules to standardize forms used in processing such cases. He said the efforts focused on problems with issuing and enforcing temporary protective orders between jurisdictions.
