Letter: Facts appear to be out of context

I am confused. A short time ago, Tom Tatro's campaign ad said Fact or Fiction. The last two campaign ads he is citing Fact. This is good except that his facts appear to be out of context or maybe incomplete.

His first set of facts did not cover the complete topics and his second seems to only be partial. His comparison on Sales Tax Facts of Carson City shows 98/99 @ 9.1 percent increase and 99/00 at 1.4 percent. Ok. Comparing to Douglas County, 98/99 @ 8.1 percent increase and 99.00 @ 16.2 percent. OK. Target and Home Depot opened for business the last quarter of 1999 in Douglas County just a few miles south of Carson City. How many customers from Bishop, Bridgeport, Yerington, Fallon and Lake Tahoe shopped at the new stores in Douglas County and discontinued their shopping in the two Reno stores? Compare Washoe County with Douglas County.

He claims to have the ability to keep abreast of his full-time state employment as well as serve as mayor (part time). He refers to Mayor Masayko twice as full-time mayor. Full-time for one and part-time for another. Did Mayor Masayko vote against Costco or was his vote guarded in the sense of placing the new Costco site in the redevelopment category? A full set of facts has not been clarified. Does this go back to the old saying in accounting, "that figures don't lie but liars figure." Has candidate Tatro been exposed too long (as all of us have) to the Clinton-Gore school? Who is the judge of "A failed vision ... or a lack of leadership?"
