Letter: Friends can help jog pleasant memories

Remember Dug's West Indies on the corner of 395 North and Graves Lane (now College Parkway where Burger King is located)? Remember the good food and drinks (Mai Tais, Chi Chis and my favorite, Suffering Bastards)? Remember all the super stories Dug would tell us? Well "Dug" Picking, the owner, is having trouble remembering these old times, his friends and the stories he so entertainingly told.

Dug suffered a cerebral hematoma approximately one month ago which was successfully removed. But now he is having trouble talking and remembering. His therapist has suggested cards and letters from his old friends will help jog his memory. So, like the old song goes, "With a little help from 'his' friends," we can help speed him on the road to recovery and keep him telling his wonderful stories.

Dug is staying with his daughter, Kat. Please send letters, cards, and most of all, your prayers to: Dug Picking, c/o Kat Johnson, P.O. Box 1008, San Marcos, CA 92079. Or you can reach Dug at the following Web site: www.capndug.evisionfamily.com.

The Picking family, Mia, Kat, Carl and Socorro, would like to thank all who have already sent cards and letters.
