Letter: Students don't learn when uncomfortable

I am writing regarding the comments that Nannette Moffett stated about

"kids not caring about the heat in their classrooms."

My children and grandchildren attend Bordewich Bray Elementary School. Their classrooms are so unbearably hot for them they bring water sprayers to school to try and cool off during the day. They have sweat running from their faces and no place to go to get out of the heat. Some classes have electric fans but they only blow around hot classroom air.

I personally invite Mrs. Moffett to come and spend the afternoon in one of our classrooms. I think she will change her mind about kids not caring about the heat! She can see how uncomfortable it is to sit in a hot classroom all day and try and concentrate on learning.
