We finally have someone running for a Nevada Supreme Court Justice who has some initiative to put our justice system back on track. How refreshing!
I am talking about Day R. Williams for Supreme Court Justice. I love his idea. If elected, he would push the Nevada Supreme Court to compel the District Courts to do their jobs better. We all would benefit.
Many people are frustrated by the system and its long delays. They complain about the inmates' appeals and how much they cost taxpayers. One reason it costs so much is that the district courts do not address each and every issue raised by the inmates. The cases go round and round in the system. If the district courts were required to address all the issues before them, and reach the merits on post-conviction petitions, the cases would have a limited life. Taxpayers would save money.
I know that Day R. Williams will make a difference. That's why I'm voting for him and not Justice Nancy Becker. What has she done for Nevadans?
