The Nevada Restaurant Association, a non-profit trade association serving the needs of the food service, hospitality and tourism industries of Nevada, will present Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt with the "2000 Educator of the Year" award at the "Third Annual Scholarship Awards Dinner" on Tuesday in the Aladdin's Grand Ballroom, Las Vegas.
Hunt has been an industry leader committed to the ongoing education of her own employees as well as other restaurant employees statewide. She works closely with other restaurateurs and the association in advancing educational programs and seminars," said Van Heffner, president and chief executive officer.
The associate coupled with the newly established Nevada Restaurant Foundation will also award 25 academic scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to meriting students enrolled in food service and hospitality programs at statewide higher education institutions including UNR, Las Vegas; Community College of Southern Nevada, Sierra Nevada College, and Truckee Meadows Community College.
