Obituary: Carla Jean Bumby

A private family service for Carla Jean Bumby, 48, a Carson City resident since 1994, will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Bumby died Oct. 11, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born June 18, 1952, in Concord, Calif., to Carl Dortzbach and Doris Ames.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Joanie Maes, Dorsan Dortzbach and Shirley Dortzbach.

She was married to Gary Bumby for 20 years.

Prior to living in Carson City Mrs. Bumby resided in Roseville, Calif.

She was a change person for the Carson Nugget.

Mrs. Bumby was a coach for the Roseville Bobcats Cheerleaders from 1987-1994. She was on the board for the California Youth Football Association and was a Christian.

Among her survivors are her husband Gary of Carson City; daughters Casey R. and Shayla C. Bumby of Carson City; brother Dick Dortzbach of Concord; sister Mary Lou Tarango of California, one grandson and nine nieces and nephews.

Cremation is under the direction of Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory in Carson City.

Capitol City Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
