A service for Hilda Louise Weizer, 74, will be held at noon Thursday at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.
Following the service, a tree planting ceremony will take place at Lampe Park, field No. 2 at 1:30 p.m.
Mrs. Weizer died on Nov. 9, 2000, at Barton Memorial Hospital at South Lake Tahoe. She was born in Louisville, Ky., Sept. 23, 1926, to Robert and Edith McCullough.
A Gardnerville resident for 11 years, Mrs. Weizer had previously lived in Southern California for 20 years and Merritt Island, Fla. for four years.
She was an executive secretary for Rockwell International for 30 years.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, dancing and attending the ball games of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Anne Marie Gilbert in 1998.
Among her survivors are her son Rocky Walling of Gardnerville and daughters Alpha Shoffeitt of North Carolina and Connie Johnson and Billie Jean Metz, both of Ohio; brother Jacques Duhon of Florida; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

McFarlane Mortuary in South Lake Tahoe handled cremation arrangements.
