Obituary: Leo J. Vinson

Leo J. Vinson, 82, a Carson City resident for the past 30 years, died July 14, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born June 29, 1918, in Knober, Ark., to John and Lilly Allen Vinson.

He married Una Buell in September 1940 in Reno.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Glendale, Calif.

Mr. Vinson was a retired contractor. He was a Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge in California, Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years and member of the Carpenters Union 971 of Reno. He was an avid fisherman and wood craftsman and made toys for Toys For Tots.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Among his survivors are his wife Una and daughter and husband Pat and Jerry Starr all of Carson City; six brothers; two sisters and granddaughter and husband Janelle and Mike Cosenza of Northridge, Calif.

No service is planned.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
