Roy Raymond Hinsey, 78, a Carson City resident for the past two weeks, died Nov. 3, 2000 at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Springfield, Ill., to Charles and Margaret Phillips Hinsey.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in the Clio and Graeagle area for eight years, having lived in Parker, Ariz. and Long Beach, Calif.
Mr. Hinsey was the retired owner-operator of a tire shop. He was a Rotarian for 20 years in Parker and Portola, Calif. and received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award in Rotary.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific.
He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Jr.
Among his survivors are his wife Nora of Carson City; daughters Barbara Chapman of Bozeman, Mont., Judy Kribs of Dayton, Sue Hinsey of Philadelphia, Pa. and Donna Dapra of Huntington Beach, Calif.; sister Emily Dodd of Tucson; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
No service is scheduled.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
