Soroptimists on Thursday dedicated a grove at Lone Mountain Cemetery to seven members who have died.

Joan Lapham was joined by several "sisters" to dedicated the small grove of pine trees to the memory of the deceased.

"Creation of this peaceful memorial is the culmination of two years of commitment by members of the service committee to the tasks of designing, preparing, planting and caring for this site."

She thanked Don Crosby, Dave Stultz and Ken Frazier for their help with the project.

"It is indeed a labor of love that stands as a fitting memorial to our fellow Soroptimists," Lapham said.

Among the women honored by the Soroptimists were Marge Brown Patterson, Louise Davis, Nadia Dunfield, Mildred Condurachi, Olive Macdonald, Velma Stodieck and Margaret Hersey.

"The women we honor today were very active in our club; some were charter members, all were past club presidents," Lapham said. "Each was a respected member of the community, and loved by many. They are gone, but not forgotten."
