Storm drainage, water committees have openings

Interested in water issues in Carson City? Want to make sure trees continue to line city street?

Positions are open on the following two city committees:

- Two positions on the Storm Drainage Advisory Committee are open. Candidates should have a background in real estate or public policy and government finance. The advisory committee is working on the development of and the financing plan for the city's storm storm water master plan. Terms expire in August 2003. Applicants must be a registered voter of Carson City and should expect a monthly 10-hour commitment.

- There is one opening on the Shade Tree Council. The council advises the Board of Supervisors on all tree-related issues in the city. Terms are two years and applicants should expect a commitment of at least 10 hours per month.

The opportunity to apply for either board ends Aug. 18.
