Investigators from the Nevada Attorney General's Office have arrested a former Carson City man believed to have fraudulently received between $7,000 and $15,000 in disability benefits.

Charles Edward Bunnell was arrested on a Carson City warrant in Southern California, where he now resides. His crime, reports indicate, was providing false information about his disability status. He was held in lieu of $7,500 bail.

Investigator Kurt Edmonds, who works out of the attorney general's Reno branch, said Bunnell was arrested after he was caught on tape acting injury free.

"He was videotaped working at a landfill two days before testifying about his injuries," he said. "And then he was taped on two other occasions."
