FERNLEY - Two people were killed and two were injured - one seriously - in a four-vehicle accident early Wednesday on U.S. 50 Alternate at the west end of Farm District Road here, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

Investigators said a flatbed pickup truck went out of control about seven miles east of Fernley and slammed into two oncoming vehicles, setting off the chain reaction wreck just before daybreak.

Those killed were the drivers of the vehicles hit by the truck, Jessica Hancock, 32, of Fallon and Anthony D. Felices, 21, of Fallon.

The injured were identified as the truck driver, Jefferson Robinson of Reno, who was in serious condition at Washoe Medical Center in Reno, and the driver of another car, Gerald Reed, 50, of Fallon, who was treated and released.
