WNCC Golf Classic set for Friday

Western Nevada Community College Foundation's Golf Classic will be Friday.

The $100 per player fee provides scholarship money for WNCC students, but most of the interest surrounds the raffle of a 1976 Silver Shadow Rolls Royce with red leather interior. The tickets are $10 each or 11 for $100, with proceeds benefiting nursing scholarships. The winning ticket will be chosen after the golf tournament, but anyone can purchase a ticket by calling WNCC at 445-3240 or 445-3296.

The tournament features tee prizes, closest to the hole and longest drive competitions. Also included is a party at the Ormsby House on Thursday and a steak barbecue following the tournament. Tee prizes include golf balls, towels and other golf-related items.

There are also chances to win prizes in a raffle separate from the Rolls Royce. Raffle prizes include a family season pass to Eagle Valley Golf Course, rounds of golf at several golf courses and gift certificates to department stores, restaurants and a flower shop.
