Sunday marked a year since Clint Martin Jacobo was killed near the Pinon Plaza and the alleged shooters are still at large.
Nearly 30 people, including Clint's mother, brother and nephew attended a gathering at the place where Jacobo fell Aug. 6, 1999.
Jacobo, 20, a Carson City resident for the past three years, his brother, Luis, 21, as well as two male cousins, aged 16 and 17, were wounded in the shootings in a field east of the Pinon Plaza.
Laura Noperi, Clint's cousin, said the family has received no word of an arrest in the slaying.
"It has been very hard on the family, especially the two brothers," she said. "They just can't let go yet until the suspects have been caught."
Murder warrants were issued for Jorge E. Torres-Reyes and Usiel Mora both of Carson City shortly after the shooting occurred.
Torres-Reyes is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 125 pounds, with shaved black hair and brown eyes.
Mora is 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs about 135 pounds and has shaved black hair and brown eyes.
It has been a hard year for Clint's mother as well, Noperi said.
"Clint's grandfather passed away about five months ago in Arizona," she said.
There have been several gatherings at the marker off Highway 50 and Lompa Lane.
"They go out to make sure the flowers are OK and that no one has vandalized the cross," she said. "They always make sure there are plenty of flowers. Clint had lots of friends."
Noperi asked that anyone with information about the shooting contact the Carson City Sheriff's Department.
Anyone seeing one of the suspects should not approach him, but contact the Carson City Sheriff's Department at (775) 887-2020 ext. 1400, Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900 or the Secret Witness Hispanic hotline at (775) 721-7727.
