Accused child molester arrested

A Carson City plumber was arrested after admitting that he molested an 8-year-old girl several times, according to reports.

Moses A. Wungnema, 30, was awakened by deputies at his home in the 900 block of North Saliman Road after police received reports of forced sexual acts from the girl's mother.

The girl said Wungnema had committed the abuse on several occasions, including earlier that day. The girl and her mother reportedly went to their pastor with the story and then to the Sheriff's Department.

During his initial interview, Wungnema denied the charges, but after consulting with the same pastor he said the girl's version of the story was true and confessed, the report said.

Wungnema was booked on felony sexual assault with a child and held on $50,000 bail.
