Virginia City will double for Las Vegas, believe it or not, in a documentary called "Haunted Las Vegas" that will shoot next Tuesday and Wednesday at two Virginia City hotels.
Locals will be cast in several roles: Tad, a clean-shaven, blond, white male in his 30s; a small and slim miner in his 50s; a pregnant prostitute in her 20s; a white male who is a hotel guest; Hannah, a 13-year-old girl; a white nun, brunette, in her 30s; a nurse in white; and a brunette in blue in her 20s.
Auditions are today and Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Integrity Casting, 25 E. Main St. Suite 5, in Fernley at the intersection of Highway 95A. Auditioners are encouraged to bring photos and wear 1890s costumes if possible. Casting director Toni Suttie will shoot pictures at the audition if necessary. She may be reached at (775) 575-0100.
Actors will be cast by Monday. They will be paid $150 a day and 30 cents per mile for appearing in the one-hour documentary that depicts Las Vegas 100 years ago.
Shooting each day will start at noon.
"It could be a 10-hour day," Suttie said.
