Carson City sheriff's detectives followed the trail of a bomb threat Thursday which led them to the arrest of a Carson City man at a motel near Fifth and Stewart streets.
Investigators believe Robert Alan Johnson, 38, occupation unknown, called in a bomb threat to 911 from a pay phone at 12:48 p.m. in the Nugget casino. Investigators were reviewing security tapes when a similar call was received from a pay phone at Smith's Food and Drug store.
While performing surveillance on the motel, investigators reported that a man matching the appearance of the caller entered a room carrying a Smith's store shopping bag.
Johnson was subsequently arrested and reportedly told police that he made the threats because he was disgruntled with the management for not refunding his $100 deposit.
He was charged with two counts of felony bomb threats and was being held on $40,000 bail.
