The Douglas County Sheriff's Office will host two hunter safety courses this spring from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and April 8.
Only one day of instruction is required; however, participants are required to complete a workbook prior to their day of instruction.
To preregister call 782-9900 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Carson Valley Chukar Club will pay the $5 registration fee for those under 18 years of age.
The Hunter Safety Program primarily focuses on gun safety, wilderness survival, wildlife management and hunting ethics. Successful participants will receive a Hunter Safety Certificate.
