The body of a 50-year-old Dayton man, identified as Norman MacDonald, was found early Thursday morning in a drainage ditch adjacent to Highway 395 in Pleasant Valley.
Washoe County sheriff's deputies said there is no indication of foul play in the death of MacDonald, whose body was discovered face down in the water at 6:45 a.m. by two men driving south near the intersection of Ames Lane.
"We didn't see any obvious signs of foul play, but we are waiting for the toxicology reports," said Lt. Eric Radli.
An autopsy was performed by the Washoe County Coroner's office on Thursday.
Southbound commuters had to endure delays while investigators recovered MacDonald's body and collected evidence. The shoulder lane was closed from about 7 a.m. to about 10 a.m.
MacDonald was wearing blue jeans and a brown jacket at the time he was found. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Sheriff's Office Detectives Division at 328-3320.
