The Rev. Dan Eddington and the First Baptist Church at the corner of Bath and
Mountain streets will continue a special Easter observance at 7 p.m. Friday with a Tenebrae Service, also known as the Service of Shadows.
During this service, lights are gradually extinguished leaving the church and its occupants in darkness, just as they would have symbolically been on "Good Friday" two millennia ago. Attendees will leave in silence.
At 11 a.m. Easter Sunday there will be a celebration of Jesus Christ's resurrection, also known as the Celebration of Light.
Call the First Baptist Church at 852-1851.
