Fiscal analyst named to head Employment Security

Longtime legislative fiscal analyst Birgit Baker has been named head of the state's Employment Security Division.

Employment, Training and Rehabilitation Director Carol Jackson said she selected Baker because of her extensiveexperience with state and federal programs.

Before working for the Legislative Counsel Bureau, Baker was chief financial officer at the division.

She will manage the divisions programs, including unemployment insurance funding, contributions and benefits, employer service and career enhancement.

She replaces Stan Jones who Jackson abruptly asked to resign last year after nearly 30 years of state service.
