YERINGTON - The Lyon County School Board will meet at 7 p.m. today to discuss whether to purchase a plot of land from George Peek as a future site of a high school in Silver Springs.
Officials are considering the option to build a high school so students would not have to commute.
Students currently living in Silver Springs and Stagecoach spend their elementary and middle school years together, before they are split between Dayton and Fernley high schools.
The board will also consider the agreement to request a sewer line extension to the proposed site of the high school in Silver Springs.
Other items to be discussed are:
- Purchase of small vehicles.
- School bus bids.
