A Carson City man accused of purposely hitting his girlfriend with a car pleaded innocent in district court and is ready to go to trial.

Prosecutors believe Donald Parascandolo, 36, ran into his girlfriend Oct. 25 with an Isuzu Trooper. He was charged with battery with a deadly weapon. If convicted, he could get two to 10 years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines.

Since his arrest, Parascandolo has received an additional charge of failing to appear for a court date which could add up to four years in prison.

Three days were reserved for a trial starting June 14.

In response to a plead for reduction of bail Tuesday, prosecutor Matt Jensen said, "Mr. Parascandolo has a monstrous criminal history filled with violence and drugs."

Bail remained fixed at $32,500.
