MOUND HOUSE - The Lyon County Community Development Department on Wednesday ordered the removal of a mobile home in Mound House that has stirred up a neighborhood controversy.
Building inspectors red-tagged a mobile home and an accessory building on Calcite Drive owned by Joe Christian.
The mobile home allegedly violates county law because Christian in the past year built a permanent house on his lot. The building permit required him to remove the mobile after the house was built.
The controversy started after a county building inspector incorrectly gave final approval for the house and mobile home. Neighbors for several months have kept in close touch with a county commissioner, the district attorney and the community development director to get the mobile home removed.
