No additional arrests have been made following a two-week investigation into alleged steroid use at Carson High School.

Andrew Maier, an 18-year-old former football team member, was arrested Feb. 29, sparking an investigation that included interviews with several Carson High School athletes.

The next hearing in Maier's case is set for Monday in Carson City Justice Court. He is not required to appear at the hearing, which simply sets a schedule for further appearances.

Maier is charged with felony possession of steroids and misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic needle. He was released on $2,500 bail shortly after his arrest.

Carson City Sheriff's Lt. Ray Saylo said the investigation is still active, and he could not predict whether any more arrests will be made.

"We were hoping to wrap it up last week, but we were busy following up on reports of sightings of (escaped murderer) Keith Prestridge," he said. "We hope it will be finished next week."

Last week, Vice Principal Harvie Walker said investigators had been at the school talking to students and school officials. He said he did not believe that any more arrests would be made.

Football coach Bob Bateman did not return several calls to his work and home.

Board of School Trustees President Jean Kvam said the board members were aware of the investigation but could not comment until it has come to a conclusion.
