A graveside service for Bill Jones, 62, a Carson City resident for the past 21 years, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Jones died April 10, 2000, at Sierra Convalescent Center. He was born June 22, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to LeRoy and Virginia Jones Smith.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Sparks.
Mr. Jones was self-employed as a salesman and he had been a police officer in Concord, Calif. He was president of the residents council of Sierra Convalescent Center. He enjoyed racing cars and collecting antiques.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Bishopric at the Stewart Indian Colony.
Among his survivors are mother Virginia of Concord, Calif.; wife Mona and sons Tommy and Richard, all of Carson City and Timmy; daughters Diana Giomi of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Theresa Holt of Silver Springs; sisters Sharon Horton of Brentwood, Calif., and Shirley Roland and nine grandchildren.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
