Donald L. Minifie, 78, a Genoa resident for the past 21 years, died March 17, 2000, in Carson City. He was born Sept. 2, 1921, in Livermore, Calif., to Thomas L. and Irene Larry Minifie.
Before moving to Genoa, he lived in Los Gatos, Calif. for 23 years.
Mr. Minifie was a fireman. He was a member of the Boiler Makers Union in Oakland, Calif.; Firemans Union of Santa Clara County, Calif. and the Volunteer Fire Department in Genoa. He served as fire chief at the Los Gatos Fire Department and Genoa Fire Department and was on the town board in Genoa. He served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Durkee Minifie, in 1997.
Among his survivors are his son, Raymond W. of Mountain Home, Idaho; daughter Donna Lee Dump of Corona, Calif.; brother Stanley of Oakland; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A service will be at Los Gatos Memorial Park in San Jose, Calif., at a later date.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
