Evelyn Longero James, 89, a Carson City resident for the past 70 years and former Silver City resident, died May 16, 2000, at Sierra Convalescent Center. She was born April 11, 1911, in Colorado, to Albert J. and Larhea Witt Cummings.
Mrs. James was a homemaker. She enjoyed camping and riding horses. She was a very good cook and she was active in her church. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Carson City and the First Church of Christ, Scientist.
She was preceded in death by her son, Delbert Longero, daughter, Ruth Caraway and brother, A.G. Cummings.
Among her survivors are her sons, Jerry Longero of Yerington, Kenneth Longero of Las Vegas and Donald Longero of San Miguel, Calif. and daughter, Joy Longero of Carson City.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
