Obituary: Hanna Spangemacher

A memorial mass for Hanna Spangemacher, 93, a Carson City resident since 1974, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Carson City.

Mrs. Spangemacher died Jan. 3, 2000 at Carson Health Care Center.

She was born June 15, 1906, in Germany to Robert and Anna Minna Schmidt Hesse.

She married Frank Spangemacher on Oct. 5, 1929.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Chicago, Ill.

A retired seamstress, she was Catholic.

She was preceded in death by her husband on April 16, 1966; brothers Gottfried and Bernhart Hesse; and sisters Marie Meyer-Kassel, Annamie Oelschlaeger, Gertrude Hesse and Elizabeth Brooks.

Surviving Mrs. Spangemacher is her daughter, Connie Spangemacher, of Carson City.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
