A funeral for Jim Ray Allison, 56, a Carson City resident for the past 19 years, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Allison died Nov. 2, 1999, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born Oct. 10, 1943, in Inglewood, Calif., to Willis and Velma Nutt Allison.
He had been a member of the Nevada Highway Patrol for the past 23 years, retiring as sergeant. He was the first pilot for the NHP in 1983. He enjoyed flying airplanes, making model airplanes, restoring cars and loved the outdoors.
Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty, and brother, Tim.
Among his survivors are his daughter, Lynne Williams, of West Valley City, Utah; niece, Danielle Rosa, of Lovelock and nephew, Tim Allison of Gardnerville.
Burial will be at the Oakhill Cemetery in Oakhurst, Calif., at a later date.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
