A memorial service for John Benjamin Cox, 72, a Carson City resident for the past 27 years, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St., Carson City.
Mr. Cox died Nov. 27, 1999, in Carson City. He was born July 20, 1927, in Ellensberg, Wash., to William and Edith Cox.
He married Judie Cox Jan. 4, 1982, in Carson City.
Mr. Cox was a forklift mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Elks.
Among his survivors are his wife, Judie, of Carson City; sons, Rod and Stan, of Yuba City, Calif., Greg Higley, of Winnemucca, and Charles Higley, of Carson City; daughter, Danna Higley, of Reno; sisters, Wilma Shamblin, of Pasadena, Calif., and Doris Cox, of Menlo Park, Calif.; brothers, Don Cox, of San Jose, Calif., and George Cox, of Lacey, Wash.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Cremation was at Reno Memorial Cremation & Burial Society.
