Steven L. Reed, 38, a Reno resident and a lifelong Nevada resident, died Jan. 7, 2000, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 29, 1961 in Reno to Lee Reed and Nancy Miller Matthie.
Mr. Reed a waiter at the Comstock Hotel and Casino.
Among his survivors are a son, Christopher Reed of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Lorelei Reed of Carson City; his father, Lee Reed of Sparks; his mother, Nancy Matthie of Sparks; two sisters, Shawn Reed of Sparks and Carrie Matthie of Reno; and grandparents, Herb and Norine Samuels of Diamond Springs, Calif.
A celebration of love will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at 2943 Springland Court in Sparks.
Cremation will be at Sierra Crematory.
John Sparks Memorial Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
