The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department will host a "Summer Family Concert Series" Fridays at the Minden Park Gazebo at Fifth and Esmeralda streets.
The concerts are free of charge and take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The concert series is a community and family event and everyone is encouraged to pack a picnic and relax in the Minden Park and enjoy and evening of music.
Scheduled performances include: May 26, Brian Farnon and the Tahoe Dance Band (big band and orchestra); June 30, Country Tradition (country music); July 28, The Oupsyders (country and bluegrass); Aug. 25, The Blues Monsters (jazz, blues, funk and R&B).
The concerts are offered through the contributions of businesses in the community which include: Carson Valley Inn, Prudential Nevada Realty, Stockdale and Crumm, Carson Valley Kiwanis, Syncon Homes, Stor-All, Carson Valley Lions Club and the town of Minden.
