I am writing to express my support for the designation of a National Conservation Area in the Black Rock Desert and High Rock Canyon areas of northwestern Nevada. I recently spent a week exploring the area including gaining a birdseye view of it from atop King Lear Peak in the Jackson Range on the eastern edge of the proposed NCA.
This large expanse of undeveloped, starkly beautiful Great Basin desert is unique, remote, and contains a large diverse ecosystem of plants and animals which deserves the added protections this designation would provide. I fully support Sen. Bryan's bill which would create this NCA and am urging others to take a look at the area and get behind the proposal as I beleive now is the time to create a higher level of protection for this exquisite area of your state.
