Two dance instructors have joined forces to bring area swing bands to town on a regular basis along with a variety of lessons.
Earl Case and Katya Dach schedule a different small band from the area into the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada on the last Friday of each month, 9-11:30 p.m. Admission is $5 a person. The Russ Patrick Band will perform on March 31.
The Children's Museum, at 811 North Carson St., is where Case and Dach jointly instruct almost every Friday night 7-8:30 p.m., teaching two traditional and one "cool" dance pattern each week. Lessons run $8 a single or $15 a couple, while a monthly rate of $30 a single or $55 a couple is offered.
Thursdays, 7-8:30 p.m., Case teaches swing dances like the Lindy at the dance studio above Java Joe's at 319 North Carson Street. Lessons are $8 a person or $15 a couple.
Dach teaches ballroom dancing 7-8:30 p.m. Mondays at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 West King St. Lessons are $40 a month or $12.50 a session.
