LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas-based National Airlines, which celebrated its first anniversary last month, has agreed to acquire eight more jets, with options for 12 more.
The first two Boeing 757-200 aircraft will be delivered in January, followed by one each in June and July 2001. All four planes are being leased through GE Capital Aviation Services.
National will get four more aircraft in 2002.
National has 15 Boeing 757-200s in its existing fleet, and flies about 25 daily scheduled routes from McCarran International Airport.
It will launch service to Newark, N.J. July 13 and has won five slots at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, with service scheduled to begin in the fall.
National has also applied for three of the six new round-trip slots available at Washington's Reagan National Airport. A decision on the slots is due from the Transportation Department in July.
