VFW seeks members

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and Auxiliary groups are looking for new members.

In addition, the VFW group in Yerington has consolidated with Topaz 3630 at Topaz Ranch Estates.

Any men or women who have been in the service overseas in time of war or conflict is eligible to join.

Any spouse, brother, father, mother, sister, stepmother or stepfather is eligible to join the auxiliary.

"We have a new district #1, and would like to sign up members within our district," said District #1 Commander David Wooley and District #1 Auxiliary President Jacqui Mobley.

The district includes Topaz, Gardnerville, Carson City, Reno, Dayton, Smith Valley, Lake Tahoe and Virginia City.

Topaz will hold a spaghetti feed Oct. 16 at the TRE park building, 4 to 8 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

A membership table will be available, and interested people may find out the advantages of being a member of the VFW and may sign up at that time.
