WASHOE VALLEY - Felicitas Tacata, 62, of Sparks died Saturday evening in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 395 in Washoe Valley about halfway between Bellevue and Bowers roads, according to a Nevada Highway Patrol dispatcher.
Aurora Anin, 61, also of Sparks, was injured in the accident as a passenger in the vehicle driven by Tacata. Anin was listed Sunday morning in satisfactory condition in Washoe Medical Center's orthopedic unit.
Driving northbound in the outside lane, Tacata drove onto the shoulder at about 6:20 p.m. Saturday and the car started rotating clockwise. The car then struck a guard rail and overturned, the dispatcher said.
The car came to rest on its roof near milemarker 5 - five miles north of the Carson City-Washoe County Line. The cause of the accident is pending.
