A hearing for a Carson City deputy district attorney indicted by a special grand jury has been postponed until 11 a.m. Aug. 6.
Chief Deputy Anne Langer is accused by a grand jury of intimidating a witness to influence testimony.
The crime is punishable by up to one to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Because of the indictment Langer was placed on administrative leave with pay from her $86,418-a-year job.
The hearing had been scheduled for today.
The grand jury was empaneled March 13 to review allegations by Carson City resident Ron Weddell against several city officials for what he says was a deliberate refusal to prosecute two brothers he claimed tried to run down an employee.
