A small brush fire flared at the corner of Clear Creek Road and Lynette Lane just east of U.S. 395 in Carson City at about 4:13 p.m. Saturday.
Carson City Fire Department engines one and three, a rescue unit and deputy chief responded to the blaze, which was extinguished in about five minutes. Cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.
Douglas County:
A tree that spontaneously ignited at the site of the Genoa fire a few weeks ago posed no hazard was allowed to burn out.
The blaze started at 8:53 p.m. Friday and Station 12 of the East Fork Fire District was already on the scene, watching the area for flare-ups.
