Rufus Walter "Dub" Taylor, 80, a Klamath Falls, Ore., resident and former Carson City resident, died Nov. 7, 2001, in Klamath Falls. He was born in Hugo, Okla., to Rufus Walter and Nancy Jane Robinson Taylor. He was raised on the family farm in Soper, Okla.
Mr. Taylor moved west at an early age to cowboy on cattle ranches. He was retired from the State of Nevada. He enjoyed hunting, roping at rodeos and fishing.
He was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
Among his survivors are his daughter Mary Jane Melink of Longview, Wash.; sons Walt of Winston, Ore. and Tim of Sandy, Ore.; grandchildren Lesli and Julie Taylor of Winston, Curtis, Emily and Mason Taylor of Sandy and Chris, Lauren and JoLee Melink of Longview and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Moon Creek Cemetery in John Day, Ore.
Taylor's Family Mortuary in Winston is in charge of arrangements.
