A Carson City woman was injured Monday morning in a single-vehicle rollover in Pleasant Valley as she tried to corral her cat who had made its way onto the floorboard under her feet.
Gayle Jacquet, 49, was pinned upside down in her 1998 Ford Explorer for about 20 minutes before crews could pry the door loose to free her.
"En route to take her cat to the vet, the cat gets down around the pedals. And while she attempts to extract the cat from around the pedals she loses control, exits the roadway, goes over the fence and rolls," Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Troy Lindley said.
The roof of the Explorer was smashed to the bottom of the window frame.
Jacquet was taken by ambulance to Washoe Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The cat ran from the scene.
